The Culture Ministry is holding the 20th edition at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The Royal patronage reflects HM the King’s keen interest in reviving authentic Bahraini heritage and protecting it from extinction.
Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa extended deep thanks and appreciation to HM King Hamad for his keenness on patronizing the festival annually, stressing his constant directives to revive and protect the national heritage to stand as a living witness for successive generations and a trust for the posterity.
The 20th edition celebrates Bahraini deep-rooted heritage spotlighting its impact on the environment. It reflects the development of the national heritage as a cultural language bonding people, regardless of their social and economic backgrounds.
The festival features discussion sessions for Bahraini writers in local dialect and a play, in addition to functions for children and workshops.
This year’s edition hosts several Arab poets who will deliver recitals, in addition to folklore musical concerts and a children’s fashion show.
The festival showcases multifaceted national heritage, including handicrafts, aiming to protect them from extinction as they reflect human creativity. The annual heritage festival has established itself as a prime cultural event in Bahrain.
