The annual International Leadership Conference (ILC 2012) will open on Tuesday (May 15) in Bahrain.
Bahrain Management Society (BMS) is organizing the event in cooperation with the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) under the theme “Enforcing Regional Competitiveness through Leadership, Critical Thinking and Innovation”.
Energy Minister Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza will patronize the two-day event at the Regency Intercontinental Hotel.
Local, regional and international high-level speakers, chief executives, senior managers, heads of departments will take part, in addition to Bahrain’s public and private sectors.
The conference strategic theme is based on three main topics of Leadership, Critical thinking and Innovation.
The first topic will review Case studies of Leadership Excellence that enforce regional competitiveness and illustrate highlights of the most enabling behavior model for Leaders to ensure the competitive edge for their organizations and contrasts aspects of Leading from inspirational approach, rather than motivational, to open the horizon for new ideas and initiatives.
The second topic will touch upon the difference between Critical Thinking and Creative Thinking and the application of critical thinking strategically to enforce regional competitiveness and also the importance of learning how to challenge assumptions and expand perceptions in problem solving.
The third topic will focus on the application of innovation to lead effectively, work collaboratively, drive results and realize excellent performance.
Also Innovative leadership role in achieving success today and in the uncertain times to come in addition to ways Leaders select to promote and support organizational innovation and Building a culture that promotes creativity and innovation in organizations and also discussing best practices for designing an Innovation Transformation Program.
In a statement marking the forthcoming conference, Dr. Mirza stressed the importance of the concept of competitiveness.
He described viable and efficient managerial leadership, based on critical thinking, creativity and innovative spirit as the key to engage successful change in the public and private sectors.
Fourteen leading speakers will address the ILC 2012, in the presence of over 150 participants.
