Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed-Ali Humaidan confirmed that the ministry will not hesitate to refer anyone involved in leading to the accident that took place in Al Aker, and leading to the death of three workers, to the public prosecution if the investigation proved their involvement.
The minister told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that low awareness of vocational safety standards among workers, and having no knowledge on how to wear protective apparel required in work sites, are the main reasons of Al Aker accident. He described the accident as “regretful and horrific”
This came during the graduation ceremony of 100 trainees of the executive marketing program, which is a part of the Complementary University Graduates Training and Recruitment Project, and held under his auspices.
He expected that the Complementary University Graduates Training and Recruitment Project attain its goal by targeting 2500 graduate after a year of launching it. He underlined that launching this project is synchronous to the increasing applications of graduates with specialties that are not required in the market, such as social studies and human sciences.
He added that facts proved that the project is very successful, as 4500 graduated have benefited from it in its first version. He added that the ministry continues in placing tenders, almost daily, to select training institutes for the project, in order to launch similar enhanced projects that include all specialties.
