Rotana Group’s agreement with Bahrain is a major step towards GCC Union which shows growing co-operation among the states including the transfer of expertise, investments and knowledge, an official told the 24X7 News.
The Minister for State for Information Sameera Rajab, after the signing of two agreements on Tuesday evening by Rotana Group for setting up 13 TV channels in Bahrain under the umbrella of Al-Arab News Channel, said that it would also give a new dimension to the media sector in Bahrain. The streaming of 13 TV News Channels from Bahrain under Al Arab News umbrella will be run by Prince Waleed Talal’s media empire known as Rotana Group. The Kingdom Bahrain has become home to Al-Arab News Channel and its studios. Rotana Group has also decided to relocate its top executive management from Riyadh to Bahrain as per December 12, 2012, while maintaining its studios in Cairo and Beirut. The Minister for State for Information lauded the efforts of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) for securing the right channels like Rotana Group to add new dimensions to the media sector in Bahrain.
