The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed at conclusion of the Gulf Cooperation Council meeting held in Riyadh the agreement by the GCC leaders to the proposal of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the Ministerial Council to continue studying the report of the specialized council specializing in the issue of moving from a cooperation to a Union Phase, and to forward recommendations to the supreme council during a meeting to be held in Riyadh.
The Kingdom of Bahrain affirms that such step is attributed to the efforts of the GCC leaders and their keen desire to continue the steps needed to move from a cooperation to a union phase, as this will lead to meeting the aspiration of the people of the Gulf Arab countries, and will contribute in enhancing security and stability as well as prosperity for the GCC countries.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa left Saudi Arabia, heading back to Bahrain, after attending the 14th GCC Consultative Summit, which concluded this evening in Riyadh.
HM the King bid farewell to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and GCC leaders, wishing them all utmost health and happiness.
HM King Hamad sent a cable of thanks to the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, whereby HM expressed thanks and appreciation to King Abdulla, the government and the people of Saudi Arabia for the hospitality extended to HM and his accompanying delegation. This HM said reflects the unique and strong relations linking Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
HM said that during the consultative summit which was held, decisions reached that asserted the achievement of security, stability, progress and prosperity for the GCC countries, as well as the Arab and Islamic nation.
HM wished the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques health and happiness, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia further progress and prosperity.
HM the King also sent a similar cable of thank to Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy premier, Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud thanking him for the hospitality received during the summit, wishing him health and happiness and for Saudi Arabia further progress and prosperity.
