Chief of the Prosecution, Ahmed Bucheiri said that the Public Prosecution has completed its investigations in the case of the group of terrorists who placed an explosive device near one of the checkpoints, aiming at hiding it, which exploded as a police force approached them, where it seriously injured four policemen.
Meanwhile, public prosecution heard statements of the victims, witnesses of the incident, and the seventeen defendants, who four of them admitted committing the incident. All the medical reports of the victims and reports of test samples were attached to the case, where the public prosecution charged them with the following:
First, on 9/4/2012 they intended to kill four policemen, with premeditation and put barriers on the road, placing inside them the explosive bomb intending to kill them, but they failed to execute their crime and implement a terrorist act.
Second, setting fire that would endanger people’s lives and money.
Third, they detonated an explosive device aiming at terrorizing innocent people. Therefore, it was decided to start the trial on Sunday 24th of June, with a warrant to arrest the runaway convicts.
