American Express Middle East on Sunday launched a new partnership with Delta Air Lines, which will enable its Cardmembers to redeem Membership Rewards points for free flights and upgrades across Delta’s network of 340 destinations in nearly 60 countries, including an extensive range of cities in the United States and Canada. Every 2 Membership Rewards points can be exchanged for 1 mile in the Delta SkyMiles programme, which can then be redeemed for qualifying Delta, Delta Connection and Delta Shuttle flights.
Membership Rewards is an award-winning rewards programme from American Express where one point is earned for nearly every $1USD, or equivalent, spent on the Card. Membership Rewards points do not expire and can be redeemed across a wide selection of reward categories including flights, hotels, dining and entertainment, a variety of merchandise and charity donations.
With the launch of this partnership, Delta Air Lines becomes the 12th airline partner in the Membership Rewards programme in the Middle East, giving Cardmembers even more travel options to choose from when redeeming points for rewards, particularly to North American cities.
“Our partnership with Delta is a prime example of how American Express Middle East strives to provide meaningful and rewarding benefits which meet the evolving needs of our Cardmembers across the Middle East and North Africa,” said Bilal Alavi, Head of Marketing, American Express Middle East. “With twelve airline partners, American Express Middle East offers the strongest airline rewards programme in the MENA region. Delta’s wide range of destinations, including those in North and South America, complements our existing network of regional and global airline partners and enables us to offer Cardmembers exceptional redemption possibilities. Whether Cardmembers are traveling locally or to North America, Europe or Asia, Membership Rewards has them covered.”
