Bahrain Air, participated as a full member of International Air Transport Association, in the 68th IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit which was held in Beijing from 10 to 12 June 2012.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is IATA’s pre-eminent event. The AGM provides a focus for emerging industry issues and a forum for members to meet and network. Many representatives from IATA’s member airlines, industry associate partners, international and regional associations, leading manufacturers, industry suppliers and international media attended this meeting.
Richard Nuttall CEO of Bahrain Air attended the AGM in Beijing and the airline was presented with a plaque to commemorate its joining of IATA.
“This is a historic moment for a young airline like Bahrain Air. Going forward, membership of IATA will allow us to build on our professionalism and improve our distribution, while working with other IATA carriers to provide a better service for Bahrain and the communities we serve,” Nuttall, said.
The 2012 Annual General Meeting of IATA was hosted by Air China. The AGM focused on discussions of some of the economic and other challenges facing the aviation industry which is squeezed between high oil prices and still fragile profitability. “Since the meet was held in China, a country of huge economic scale, there were also discussions on how to make the most of business opportunities there,” the airline in a statement added.
