His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who received top officials on Sunday said Bahrain has achieved in the era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa all the requirements of a modern state, including mainly openness, freedom of expression, democracy and popular participation.
HRH the Prime Minister urged all to play their part in protecting hard-won national achievements.
He also expressed satisfaction at the growing national awareness which he described as the protector of democracy.
HRH Premier stressed the government’s keenness to cater for the needs of central markets regulars and traders.
He was speaking as he received senior officials and members of the Representatives Council.
HRH the Prime Minister directed, in this context, to launch a facelift project of Muharraq Central Market which will be carried out in two phases.
He instructed to provide a temporary location for traders until the development project is completed so as not to harm the interests of merchants and citizens alike.
He also underlined the need to maintain the pace of the development march and ensure all regions benefit from it to optimize services for citizens.
“The national march must continue unabated and anyone who tries to hamper it will fail thanks to popular persistence to go ahead with it to achieve forecast aspirations,” HRH the Prime Minister asserted.
“We shall never be distracted from preserving our development, security, stability and growing democracy. Our accomplishments will only be protected by the honourable stances of the Bahraini people that will always be cherished by the national memory,” he added.
