Minister of Culture, Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received Architect Bernard Khoury and discussed with him establishing an Artist Museum of Arab Artists in Bahrain. The Museum will be located at the headquarters building of the old British Bank (HSBC), in Bab Al Bahrain, as part of the revival of Bab al Bahrain’s area to return its prestige within an integrated plan to develop the area.
Shaikha Mai stressed her determination to revive areas with heritage aiming at returning these places to their first tourism attraction, as part of the Ministry of Culture’s efforts, in line with Al Manama the capital of Arab culture for 2012, which was launched under the name of (the city of joy), where it is dedicated as the capital of Arab Tourism for the year 2013.
Meanwhile, the architect Bernard Khoury expressed his admiration of Bab al-Bahrain and highlighted his determination to participate in achieving the project of the art museum, pointing out that the area of Bab Al Bahrain has a special and distinctive attraction, expressing his pride with the high trust allotted for him by the Minister of Culture.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Engineering Services, Noora Al Sayeh.
