Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa met with his Thai counterpart Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul and discussed bilateral aspirations to bolster partnership in the economic, financial and trade sectors and promote investments and food security.
The session was on the sidelines of the visit of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to Thailand to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The two sides hailed steadily-growing relations in all fields and discussed steps to implement the memoranda of understanding which were signed during the visit of the Thai Premier to the Kingdom of Bahrain last month.
The joint Bahrain-Thai Committee will convene in October to discuss steps to boost economic cooperation.
The two sides stressed the importance of bolstering cooperation bonding the GCC countries and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), agreeing to unify stances in all international arenas.
Shaikh Khalid hailed solid bilateral relations, reaffirming Bahrain’s keenness to bolster relations of friendship towards building strategic economic and trade partnership.
Tovichakchaikul stressed the importance of Bahrain’s participation in the World Economic Forum for AEAN countries, hailing HRH the Premier’s keynote speech
The two sides also discussed latest regional and international developments and mechanisms of promoting understanding towards strengthening global security and stability.
