Chief Prosecutor of the Southern Governorate, Muhanna Al Shaiji announced that the Public Prosecution was informed on Sunday morning by the reform and rehabilitation institution of the death of the convicted Mahmoud Khalil Ibrahim aged 54.
The Public Prosecution moved to Salmaniya morgue immediately and conducted the necessary inspection on the body, where it found that there were neither injuries nor bruises, and that the accused had a court order issued against him in 2010, and was sentenced to ten years for selling narcotics.
The Public Prosecution called for a medical examiner to check the body of the convicted and declare the cause of his death whether it was natural or not, where the preliminary medical checkup announced that the death was by a sharp decline in blood circulation.
On the other hand, a final medical report will be prepared and submitted to the Public Prosecution after the completion of analysis of samples from the body, which may accurately contribute in uncovering the true cause of the death.
Public Prosecution ordered to hand over the body to his family to bury him, where the issue is still under full investigation.
