His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, said that the deep-rooted bilateral relations bonding Bahrain and India, their strategic locations and developed trade exchange have enabled them to constantly open new horizons of joint coordination and cooperation, adding the two countries should continue strengthening their ties for the common interests of their friendly peoples.
This came as HRH Crown Prince was received by the Indian President Pratibha Patil who requested him to deliver her greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
During the meeting, HRH Crown Prince cited his previous successful visits to friendly India, pointing out to the two countries’ constant desire to consolidate their ties through exchanging visits of senior officials, which, he said, enhanced economic cooperation.
He also lauded India’s well-deserved distinguished position enjoyed by India at the international level, noting that the kingdom, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is keen to take advantage of India’s successful experience.
HRH Crown Prince also expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to India for its supportive stances towards the kingdom, affirming that achieving success and the expected results require the rejection and denunciation of all attempts and negative practices in order to preserve social balance, stability and cohesion.
He also praised the landmark contributions of the Indian community in Bahrain.
HRH Crown Prince also reviewed with the Indian President the latest regional and global developments of common concern.
President Patil thanked the Kingdom, led by HM King Hamad, for its care for the members of the Indian community and keenness to ensure their security, wishing Bahrain further security, progress and prosperity.
She also welcomed HRH Crown Prince’s visit to her country, noting that it will bolster bilateral ties in all fields.
The outstanding Bahraini-Indian ties were also praised during HRH Crown Prince’s meeting with the Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh who requested him to deliver his greetings to HM King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
During the meeting, HRH Crown Prince commended India’s backing for Bahrain during the recent incidents, asserting that Bahrain is committed to its reform process, anchored by HM the King, despite the challenges.
Prime Minister Singh reiterated his country’s support for the steps taken by the kingdom to maintain the reform and development march, expressing confidence that they will yield positive results and enhance security and stability.
He also thanked the kingdom for the measures taken to consolidate the rights of expat communities.
HRH Crown Prince also held a meeting with India’s External Affairs Minister Shri S.M. Krishna and discussed with him ways of maintaining the advanced level of the historical bilateral relations in all fields, praising the two friendly countries’ joint keenness to consolidate bilateral cooperation at the regional and international levels.
He also expressed his earnest thanks and appreciation to India for its backing for Bahrain, praising the Indian community’s dedication.
The Indian official expressed his country’s resolve to broaden areas of cooperation with Bahrain given its strategic location and the deep-rooted relations with India.
