HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman the Prime Minister called for unification among ranks and avoidance of conflicting discourse.
HRH the Prime Minister urged Bahraini press to rectify the distorted image which some media try to portray for Bahrain, asserting that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s government supports media, economic and political openness.
HRH the Prime Minister emphasized that Bahraini press possesses freedom, national values and responsibilities which makes them capable of protecting the community from divisionism and conserve national unity and cohesion, citing unfair foreign media campaign and allegations against Bahrain which should not be allowed to adversely affect existing atmospheres of freedom and democracy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
HRH the Prime Minister encouraged Bahraini press to take the lead and to convey true facts to public opinion inside the Kingdom and abroad especially regarding the unfortunate incidents which turned to the sort of violence classifiable under terrorism which is unacceptable in any country anywhere in the world.
HRH the Prime Minister congratulated the newly-elected board of directors of the Bahraini Journalists Association (BJA) and aspired to see them succeed in assuming their mission in serving the cause of journalists, local media and newspapers and promoting practices which serve the best interest of the nation which reflects the level attained by Bahraini press in terms of progress and praised the efforts of the current board of directors and members as well as the outgoing chairman and board members.
These insights were made by HRH the Prime Minister as he received the newly elected chairman and board of directors of the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA).
