Muharraq Eight Constituency residents on Saturday started heading to the polling stations to cast their votes in the run-off elections to fill their vacant parliamentary seat after the constituency’s former representative Ghanim Al Buainin had been appointed State Minister for Foreign Affairs.
More than 8000 voters are expected to turn up for the elections which take place in the main polling station at Al-Hid Secondary School for Girls, in addition to two other sub polling locations at Bahrain International Airport and City Centre Shopping Mall.
By-elections results revealed no clear winner as the top two winners – Samir Al-Khadim and Abdulrahman Buali- won respectively 44.47% and 38.9% of the votes.
