His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and EDB Chairman, Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended a working lunch held by the Economic Development Council in Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, which included a number of officials and representatives of the private sector in both countries.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince pointed out the extended partnership between the trade and industrial sectors in both countries and their mutual keenness to reinforce and maintain their development, considering Indian the fourth trade partner of the Kingdom of Bahrain concerning exports to countries of the world. In addition both sides signed a number of bilateral agreements in the economic and trade fields.
His Royal Highness also said that the enormous potentialities and the pioneering world site of India together with the great opportunities in the Gulf market form a fertile ground to maintain the cooperation growth between the two countries.
He also highlighted that Mumbai had special ties with Bahrain, for it had been a distinctive regional destination for Bahraini and Gulf traders and its importance has greatly increased at the present time.
During the luncheon, President of the international banking and small and medium business in ICICI Bank, Chairman and Co-founder of NASSCOM for the technical solutions and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Onward Technologies words of welcome.
These words reflected Bahrain’s position as an important station for the Indian Economic Institutions and Banks to gain access to the Gulf market which is considered of a great importance for the Asian Economy.
The Minister of Transportation, the Acting CEO of the EDB, Kamal Ahmed Bin Mohammed delivered a speech on this occasion where he highlighted the increasing economic and trade importance of Asia and the significant location of India regarding Bahrain and the GCC countries.
He also pointed out the distinctive role of the Indian working force living in Bahrain and its contribution in building Bahrain National Economy.
Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed with Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India a Memorandum of Understanding announcing the establishment of the Bahraini-Indian Business Council.
