Worley Parsons, with current size of projects in hydrocarbons and electricity sectors worth $50 million, plans to enter in infrastructure, minerals, power, metal and other specialised segments of businesses in Bahrain, a senior official told 24X7 News on Monday.
Andres Cortes, General Manager Worley Parsons on the sidelines of the their new official premises at the Gulf Hotel’s Executive Suites Tower, said that the company had doubled the staff from 100 to 200 employees with 18% per cent locals.
“We are expanding and we will tap into other areas of business in Bahrain as part of our business strategy,” Cortes explained.
The new office of Worley Parsons was inaugurated by Dr Hassan Fakhro, the Minister of Commerce and Industry in presence of the other officials.
Tarek Mehana, Communication Business Unit Project Manager at Worley Parsons told 24X7News that the company is working on hydrocarbons projects with Tatweer Petroleum through Bapco and also in power sector through Ministry of Water and Power.
“The existing size of the projects being handled by Worley Parsons is around $50 million and we are keen on enhancing the business base in Bahrain,” he added.
“The 1,900 square meters open-plan office can accommodate 200 plus personnel enabling Worley Parsons to increase its services offering across the five phases of the project asset lifecycle: starting from conceptual stage right through operation,” the statement of Worley Parsons added.
