The Committee of the Saudi Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat (Adahi) announced that it has set the price of Adahi sheep for the upcoming Hajj season 1433H (2012G) at SR 450 ($120/EUR 98).
Chaired by IDB Group President Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, the Committee approved the proposed budget to implement the Saudi Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat for the upcoming season scheduled to start late October 2012.
The IDB Group President expressed appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the continued support to the project, which is serving millions of the needy around the world.
The Committee is composed of representatives of the Ministry of Municipality and Rural Affairs (Mina Development Project – Holy Makkah Municipality), Ministry of Interior (The Emirate of the Holy Makkah Region), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Hajj, Ministry of Agriculture and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Hajj Research Institute in addition to the Islamic Development Bank.
Every year, the Kingdom is visited by millions of Hajj pilgrims. The Islamic Development Bank has been managing the Saudi Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat (Adahi) since its inception in 1982. It is a charitable and environment- friendly project, which utilizes and distributes the Hajj meat amongst millions of the needy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in IDB member countries and Islamic communities in non-member countries.
