The Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the World Cities’ Summit and the International Water Week being held in Singapore. The delegation led by Manama Municipality general director engineer Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa on behalf of Municipalities and Urban Planning Minister Dr. Jum’a bin Ahmed Al-Ka’abi.
The meetings of the World Cities’ Summit and the International Water Week for this year spans the period 1-4 July 2012.
The Kingdom’s participation aimed at converging with international expertise in the field of viable cities via development projects in addition to discovering modular cities around the globe and creative solutions techniques applicable in urban areas.
The International Water Week is a gathering for municipalities’ affairs ministers and chairmen of municipal corporations, senior government officials, leaders in the water industry, international organizations chiefs, senior research fellows in this field. The show for the World Cities Summit is conducted over a space of 26,000 square meters with participation from countries from around the globe.
The International Water Week (Singapore2012) and the ancillary water show coincides with the Waste Management Show2012 (Waste MET Asia2012).
The functions of the 2nd International Water Week focus on discussion of two major themes: sustainable water solutions and sustainable cities.
