To enhance its continuous control on markets and supermarkets, Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro accompanied by a number of Ministry’s officials inspected today morning Manama Central Market as well GSF Supermarket and Sultan Center to stand over the markets movement in the first days of Ramadan and to reassure market readiness for the holy month of Ramadan beside standing on price movement in the market.
During the tour, which began in Manama Central market, the minister and officials briefed on quantities of vegetables and fruits, where the Redha Al Bustani confirmed the continuous flow of large quantities of vegetables and fruit for the holy month of Ramadan.
In term of meat, the minister briefed on the availability of meat during first days of Ramadan and the plans of Bahrain Livestock Company for the coming days to continue to launch the required quantities, and this was confirmed by Ibrahim Salman, General Manager of Bahrain Livestock Company.
During his tour to GSF Supermarket, General Manager Raja Bunjabi noted that there and integrated marketing plan designed to implement an extensive campaign of promotions and discounts on food and many other goods required, pointing that the campaign will continue until the end of Ramadan to give consumers the opportunity to shop and purchase in rational consumer behavior.
In Sultan market, where he was received by Majed Hani, and reviewed the minister that market movement is natural, stressing in this regard, the availability of a large inventory of all consumer goods, including those are increasing in demand during Ramadan. He added most materials are on promotional offers for Ramadan.
Dr. Fakhro also visited Sofitel Hotel in Zallaq, where he praised hotel sectors and stressed the need to cooperate and enhance mutual relation among them in order to attract investment and tourism in the Kingdom.
