The Kingdom of Bahrain will host to the 3rd edition of the World Media Summit (WMS) in 2014.
This was announced at the closing session of the Second World Media Summit, which concluded on Friday.
Minister of State for Information Affairs Samira Ibrahim bin Rajab attended the three-day summit.
Officials representing 102 countries 213 leading media enterprises attended the grand gathering.
The first edition of the WMS was held in Beijing in October 2009 as a joint initiative by nine leading media organizations in the world, including Xinhua, Murdoch Media Enterprise, Associated Press, BBC, ITAR-TASS, Kyodo News, News Corp., Thomson Reuters, Turner Broadcasting System Inc. and others.
Over 500 media delegations converged on Russia from all parts of the world to attend the 2nd WMS, which was organized by ITAR-TASS at the World Trade Centre in Moscow.
The delegations discussed over three days key media issues, particularly profession deontology amid threats endangering media credibility.
