Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro chaired the second meeting to follow-up the results of the visit made by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Japan, which resulted in many memorandums in many areas of cooperation and joint action between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Japan, in the presence of Japan Ambassador Shigeki Sumi and BCCI Chairman Dr. Essam Fakhro and economic delegation and a number of businessmen and members of the Bahrain-Japan Friendship Society.
The Minister commended the progress of mutual relations between the two countries and leadership interests of visit output and the efforts of private and public sector to push joint commercial and industrial projects, which will enhance economic relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, they discussed the development of investments projects such as SBI Pharma” operating in the field of pharmacy to establish pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Bahrain, as well as “Kinoshita Pearls”, operating in activating trade of natural pearls in Bahrain and use technology for detecting the pearl inside the shell through a special ray device. They also discussed in the meeting what can be provided by “TBM Keeplus” engaged in technology for high quality paper manufacture as well as “Toppan Forms” for technology solutions.
During the meeting, it was addressed the possibility of the establishing Japan Center for Information Technology in Bahrain on the basis of the Manama Declaration in 1997 after holding second Gulf-Japan industrial businessmen Conference.
They also discussed a proposal for a visit of Private Sector Delegation from Japan to the Kingdom of Bahrain in the coming period as well as Professor Saburo Matsui visit to give a lecture on Japan’s experience in the field of industrial development.
Vice President of Bahrain-Japan Business Friendship Society Nasser Al Orraydh briefed a report on society’s activities to support relationships and aspects of joint cooperation between Bahrain and Japan.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister expressed his confidence that such projects will stimulate further aspects of joint cooperation and enhance trade between the two countries in light of the leadership and the government attention, valuing attendee’s efforts in this regard, and stressing the important the communication in the next phase.
