The Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jabir Al-Sabah, has issued an Amiri Decree reappointing HH Sheikh Jabir bin Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as prime minister, tasking him to nominate a new cabinet.
The Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) reported that the Amiri Decree stipulated the reappointing of HH Sheikh Jabir bin Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister, and asking him to nominate the new cabinet and to submit the names of proposed ministers to His Highness the Amir of Kuwaiti, before His Highness the Amir issues a decree in favour of their appointment.
The Amir of the sisterly State of Kuwait had earlier accepted the resignation of the outgoing cabinet presided over by Sheikh Jabir bin Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on 1st July 2012.
The Kuwaiti cabinet had to resign in the aftermath of a verdict from the Kuwaiti Constitutional Court issued in favor of dissolving the Kuwaiti National Assembly.
