His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalif, who on Sunday chaired at Gudaibiya the weekly cabinet meeting, directed the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) to speed up finalizing procedures to bring in expatriate workers and show more flexibility in providing businessmen with the needed facilities.
HRH the Prime Minister urged ministries and services bodies to respond positively to citizens’ complaints, solve their problems and further optimize services provided for them by expediting the implementation of citizen-oriented projects.
HRH the Prime Minister instructed the Transportation Ministry to support national carriers in executing their plans and functional operations so as to boost their competitiveness regionally and internationally amid economic challenges.
HRH directed concerned parties, including the Health Ministry, to step up control on food and drinks companies due to their direct relation with citizens’ health and safety. HRH instructed to take the necessary deterrent legal measures against any violation and study citizens’ complaints raised through the press regarding a company’s non-hygienic bottled water.
The cabinet reviewed a decision to draw effective plans to combat the sickle cell disease and tasked the Health Minister to present a report on the practical steps as well as preventive and curative plans to cut down the rate of contraction of the disease and provide advanced health care for patients suffering from it.
The ministerial council hailed registering the Pearl Road Project in Muharraq on the World Heritage List in the 36th meeting of the World Heritage Committee which convened in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The Pearl Road Project is the second Bahraini site to become part of the World Heritage List after Bahrain Fort was registered in 2007.
The cabinet reviewed a memorandum by the Culture Minister to register eleven archaeological sites of Tylos and Dilmun burial mounds on the World Heritage List. It tasked the Culture Ministry to finalise the needed technical studies and forward it to the cabinet.

The cabinet discussed a draft resolution to set up a high coordination committee for human rights. After reviewing a memorandum by the State Minister for Human Rights in this regard, the council decided to refer the draft resolution to the Advisory and Legal Legislation Authority for study.
The cabinet approved a proposal by the Representatives Council to set up a governmental services building in Hamad Town.
The council approved a proposal by the Representatives Council to study shifting ownership of some public lands in the sixth constituency of the Capital Governorate for housing projects.
