The Political Societies Affairs Bureau at the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry reiterated the need for political societies to abide by the constitution and respect the rule of the law-a requirement which is basic to protect the right of exercising political work and back its development.
The bureau said in a statement that the Islamic Action Society, which received a court verdict today to be dissolved, is a blatant example of continuous transgression of the law and the ethics of peaceful political work.
The verdict was issued after the society was found guilty of numerous legal violations, the bureau revealed, stressing that the society has contravened the fundamentals of legitimate political work which requires utter rejection and condemnation of acts of violence and sabotage, endangering citizens’ life and terrorizing them and exposing freedoms and properties to danger.
“This can never be taken lightly in order to protect national achievements,” the bureau said.
