His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, hailed the role of the national press in serving the Bahraini society and tackling issues aimed at boosting national gains.
Speaking at a meeting at Riffa Palace with Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) newly-elected board of directors, led by Chairman Mo’nes Mohammed Al Murdi, HRH the Crown Prince lauded the role of the press in promoting commitment to constructive national values.
“This is a responsibility everybody has to assume so that the press could serve the nation professionally and effectively,” he said, stressing the need to continue developing all media bodies in Bahrain so as to cater for the requirements of development and progress and preserve the unifying national spirit within the framework of openness and honesty that reflect the real image of the nation.
HRH the Crown Prince congratulated BJA new board of directors, wishing it success in upgrading journalism in Bahrain and anchoring the role of positive freedom of expression in laying bridges of communication and achieving the highest levels of national cooperation.
BJA board Chairman thanked HRH the Crown Prince for the meeting as well as his continuous support to BJA and the national press.
The meeting was attended by Crown Prince Court Advisor for Legal and Economic Affairs Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa.
