BAPCO has nominated Deputy Chief Executive Refining and Marketing Ebrahim Talib as its representative in the Consultative Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), led by HRH Princess Sabeeka Bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa.
The nomination is in recognition of Bapco’s critical role in the social development as part of its corporate, social responsibility towards the Kingdom of Bahrain which has been evolving over its 80 years of history.
Talib will support this initiative by injecting Bapco’s culture and values in the different projects undertaken by the Council. The Consultative Council held its first meeting in June 13 at the premises of the Women Supreme Council. The meeting aimed at further developing and improving strategies of the agricultural sector and beautification of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The council is chaired by HRH Princess Sabeeka Bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa and comprises Ministers, chief executives of leading private sector companies and experts from local and global organizations. The initiative drives at spreading the culture of gardening and agriculture in all aspects of the construction industry, food industry through improvement of vocational education in schools, independent training programs and specialized exhibitions to build qualified workforce to strengthen the sector, in addition to encouraging research in the field. BAPCO has been an active member in the Consultative Council since its inception and has continuously been supportive of HRH’s environmental projects and has significantly contributed to making Bahrain greener through a number of ambitious environmental drives in serving the Kingdom of Bahrain.
