Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) set the stage for a group of young Bahrainis to gain practical work experience and acquire skills to boost their employability with the conclusion of the month-long Alba Annual Summer Training Programme.
The Alba Annual Summer Training Programme – held across four weeks in the month of July – was aimed at giving high school graduates, university students and Bahrain Training Institute trainees the opportunity to work in Alba during their summer break.
Alba’s Chief Support Functions Officer, Basem Al Sharqi presided over the closing ceremony of the Alba Annual Summer Training Programme and handed certificates to students who took part in it.
Also present at the event was the Human Resources Manager, Abdul Rahman Janahi and other company officials.

Hence, it is our privilege to play a role in shaping this future, and enabling Bahrain’s youth to acquire the necessary professional skills to emerge as tomorrow’s leaders. We hope that the programme proved to be useful for them, and it is our hope and desire that they achieve success in whatever industry they eventually choose as a career option,” Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Laurent Schmitt said.
As part of the Alba Annual Summer Training Programme, the students did their internship in the following departments: accounting, carbon, casthouse, environment, internal audit, investor & public relations, marketing and others. They received training in business ethics and enterprise in action, environmental issues and safety, interview skills and CV writing.
