Bahrain and Jordan voiced their deep concerns over the deteriorating situation in Syria.
They also called for a quick and comprehensive political solution for the crisis so as to protect Syria’s unity and independence as well as the cohesion of its people.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and King Abdulla II of Jordan voiced the stance as they held talks tonight at the Royal Hashemite Court in Amman.
They pointed out strong bilateral relations, affirming resolve to bolster ties in all fields towards achieving joint interests. Two leaders discussed issues of mutual concern, spotlighting regional developments, particularly the escalating situation in Syria.
King Abdulla II highlighted his country’s efforts to accommodate the flux of Syrian refuges, vowing to continue extending a humanitarian relief lifeline to Syrian refugees despite additional costs.
The session of talks was attended by Prince Faial bin Al-Hussain, Prime Minister Fayez Al-Tarawneh, Hashemite Royal Court Chief Riyadh Abu Kerki, Foreign Minister Nasser Joudah, King Abdulla’s Office director Emad Fakhouri, Royal Advisor for tribal affairs Fawaz Al-Zubn Abdulla, Royal Advisor Abdulla Warikat, Joint Chief of Staff General Mohammed Al-Zubn, Public Security director General Hussain Hazaa Al-Majali, General Intelligence Department director Faisal Al-Shubaki, National Guard director Major-General Tawfiq Al-Tawalbah and Jordanian Ambassador to Manama Mohammed Siraj.
It was also attended from the Bahraini side by Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Shaikh Hamad bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Shaikh Ahmed bin Ateyatalla Al-Khalifa and Bahrain Ambassador to Amman Nasser Al-Kaabi.
The Jordanian monarch hosted a dinner banquet in honour of His Majesty King Hamad bin isa Al-Khalifa, in the presence of Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal, Prince Rashid bin Al-Hassan and senior officials from both sides.
HM King Hamad earlier left the UK following a visit during which he held talks with British Premier David Cameron on bilateral relations bonding both friendly countries.
