Bapco and Contractor employees have recently achieved five million-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI).
“This is an excellent achievement, which is the result of safe work behaviors and practices by each and every employee and contractor”, Bapco’s General Manager Refining Division Hafedh Qassab.
“This is the third health and safety milestone that we have achieved this year, and is a trend that we must maintain”.
“I want to take this opportunity to commend all Refining Division employees for their significant involvement in this achievement. We are the largest division within the company and hence our performance is a major contribution to corporate performance”, he said.
“We have now worked 18 months without a LTI, and we have achieved 2.7 million injury free hours”, he added. “Record safety achievements of this kind do not happen by accident, but are rather due to vigilance, awareness, adherence to health and safety requirements, continuous improvements and commitment from everyone in the Division. Our record is a testament to how strongly we take our safety culture. It needs to become a way of life that we want to adopt, rather than have to.”
“There is always time to do it right. We must strive for an incident and injury free workplace, and we have proven that with determination and team work we can achieve it,” he added.
