The Batelco Bowling Tournament is being held for the fourth successive year in memory of Hasan Ramadan, who is remembered as a bowling legend and to raise support for Ramadan’s daughter’s education. The tournament, which started on the 24th of August and will continue up to the 9th of September, sees matches taking place every evening from 8.00pm onwards.
Batelco Public Relations Specialist Hasan Al Maskati presented a sponsorship cheque to President of the event organising committee Nasser Alsulaiti at a recent meeting held at Batelco in Hamala.
In addition to its sponsorship, Batelco has also entered a team in the tournament.
Batelco Group General Manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi said that Batelco’s support for community sporting events was an integral part of its social commitment.
“We are keen to support a number of sports activities of this type as they play a very important role in bringing a diverse range of people together which helps to strengthen community bonds,” he added.
Alsulaiti thanked to Batelco for their generous financial support, without which the tournament could not take place. He also expressed his appreciation that Batelco’s bowling teams are taking part in the event.
“Batelco Bowling team is very well known on the Bahrain sports scene and their participation will undoubtedly elevate the level of play.”
“The funds raised during last year’s event allowed us to provide a monthly salary for the year to Mr. Ramadan’s daughter and we are hoping for even greater success this year,” he added.
All bowling fans are welcome to attend the Batelco Bowling Tournament, which is being held nightly at Funland’s Bowling Lanes, at the Marina Club.
