The Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa affirmed the importance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to the United Kingdom and his meeting with the British Prime Minister David Cameron.
The Foreign Minister said the visit reinforces the Bahraini-British relation in light of international developments and that witnessed by the Middle East.
The visit also comes to congratulate the government and people of Britain on the success of hosting the 2012 Olympics and the outstanding achievements of the British athletes. He also described this visit as important during a time that requires the development of Bahraini-British relations.
With regards to official talks the Foreign Minister indicated that it covered bilateral relations and means of preserving stability and security in the region considering it priority to Bahrain and GCC member countries.
He also affirmed that there is joint concern on the bloodshed of innocent people and its repercussions.
Shaikh Khalid also indicated that agreement on the development of cooperation which included the security of power and insuring the continuity of the freedom of maritime and air travel along with combating the spread of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.
