Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa asserted Bahrain’s constant keenness to go ahead with the comprehensive modernization and development process as well as the implementation of the National Consensus Dialogue’s visions and the recommendations of Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI), which ushered in a new chapter of reform and development.
He praised initiatives and measures taken by the government within the framework of a comprehensive vision based on boosting the rule of law and promoting the spirit of reconciliation, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and BICI recommendations.
He stressed the importance of self-assessment and objective evaluation of the results of BICI recommendations in showing commitment to serious participation in promoting the climate of confidence and reconciliation within the framework of national responsibility.
He urged political societies to take part actively in pushing ahead with the political process, stressing the importance of exchanging views among all components.
He said the principle of consensus will remain the core of national work as stressed by HM the King in his keynote address marking the last ten days of Ramadan.
He called to shun violence and reject it categorically in all times, describing national security and stability as well as people’s safety as a constant and sacred sanctity.
“Using violence and sabotage as a means to impose a political agenda is not an approach to demand reform and development,” he asserted, pointing out that all judicial procedures regarding processed cases are far from being politicized.
He said those cases are criminal and only the judiciary will have the last say, stressing the importance of respecting the judicial power and the rule of law for the sake of justice for all.
