IAA President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa lauded the key role of the media sector by establishing partnership with the local press and maintaining communication with foreign mass media.
He credited Bahraini media for highlighting the positive developments and achievements brought about by Bahrain’s government under the reforms project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He was speaking as he patronized at the Diplomat Hotel’s Muharraq Hall Ramadan “Ghabga” hosted for IAA employees as well as an honouring ceremony for long-service and outstanding workers, which was attended by HM the King’s Advisor for Cultural and Scientific Affairs Dr. Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari.
Shaikh Fawaz underlined IAA keen interest to develop the national media cadre and boost their professional, creativity and competitiveness potentials, being the pillar of the media strategy.
The IAA President honoured 60 male and female employees for their long service after spending 10, 20 and 30 years and presented bonuses and remunerations to 186 hard-working employees at the IAA departments.
He thanked the veteran workers for their strenuous efforts and dedication, praising the vital role of the young cadre in addressing the foreign media and human rights institutions and informing them about the reform and development accomplishments in Bahrain. He also lauded their response to defamatory and biased reports through their optimum use of the social media networks and modern technologies.
He took pride in having key IAA executive and administrative posts run by specialized Bahraini competencies, voicing interest in providing young Bahraini competences with the opportunity to take part positively in the administrative modernization and media development schemes.
He underscored IAA commitment to upgrade its media strategy by developing human resources and boosting their professional potentials as well as providing the suitable legislative and organizational climate to upgrade the media sector.
More than 700 IAA employees attended the ceremony which featured by cultural and recreational activities and competitions.
