Pakistan Club’s Zain Ramadan Kareem 7-A side cricket tournament remained a focal point for the cricket lovers for non-stop 28 with an estimated 14000 visitors attended the matches.
The final award ceremony was held on 28th Ramadan at the Club premises where the top three winning teams were awarded $700, $500 and $400, respectively.
The chief guest Mohammed Usman, the longest serving Chairman of Pakistan Club, the sitting Chairman Iftkhar Lone and the board members presented the awards in presence of main sponsor Zain Bahrain.
Club’s Sports Secretary Makhdoom Ahmed told the 24X7 News that at an average 500 to 600 people visited the club every day, making it one of the most attractive activities at Pakistan Club during Ramadan.
Chairman Iftikhar Ahmed Lone thanked the main sponsors especially Zain Bahrain and BFC for their gracious support and urged the other private sector organisations to extend support to the Club’s other activities around the year.
“We want to make the Club a truly family entertainment, leisure and social activity destination and for holding events Pakistan Club needs support from the community and the private sector. This is perhaps the first time that the Club had received a huge response from the participating teams as the management was forced to turn down the requests of some teams due to paucity of time and space,” the Chairman explained.
Zahid Sheikh, Club’s Information Secretary thanked the sponsors and also the individuals who helped in managing the affairs of the tournament on day to day basis. Zahid Sheikh also thanked Sajid Butt, official photographer of the Club, for providing pictures of each and every match.
This year, 60 teams played which were divided into senior, under-18 and under-15 categories. All the matches were played at night after Traveh prayers.
The opening ceremony on Ramadan 1st was attended by the Ambassador of Pakistan Jauhar Saleem, who lauded the efforts of the Pakistan Club to for providing entertaining programmes.
