As BAPCO moves forward at a rapid pace to build its new $120 million Waste Water Treatment Plant ( WWTP) Project at downstream of Refinery’s existing Oil Separators and IAF Units, the project has completed 2,000,000 employee hours without any lost time injury (LTI),” Bapco in a statement said.
“The daily workforce at site is 750 employees and expected to achieve 2.5 million employee hours without an LTI by early October 2012 and our aim is to complete this project without any injuries or accidents.”
“This is an outstanding achievement especially since a project of this kind involves handling and management of additional hazards and other environmental issues. Despite of these challenges, the project team members worked consistently and with commitment to reach this delightful milestone.”
Deputy Chief Executive, Refining and Marketing and Chairman of the EHSC, Ebrahim Talib, expressed his satisfaction on the accomplishment of this milestone. Ebrahim Talib explained that the project had many such milestones to achieve as it progress towards commissioning and it would definitely be possible if all staff adhered to BAPCO’s Osool and four keys of safety.
General Manager Major Engineering Projects A. Jabbar A. Karim also congratulated all WWTP Project Team and commended their safety awareness. In his vote of thanks, he urged each and every one of the team to strive towards the goal of completing the project without an LTI.
