The Acting General Director of Anti Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security confirmed on Sunday that a case was reported by the Central Informatics and Communication Organisation about one of its employee exploiting his job by issuing ID cards without fulfilling the necessary information for money.
He said that legal procedures had been taken and a team was formed to follow-up the case, in which the employee was arrested and confessed of issuing the cards with others who provide him with information about those who want ID cards.
Investigation was launched based on his confession, in which three suspects were held, including a GCC national.
All of them confessed to their involvement and the amounts were divided among them.
The Acting General Director said that the ID cards were listed and the individuals to who the cards were issued had been identified, in which most of them are living outside Bahrain.
He said that the necessary steps to cancel those cards had been taken.
