Bahrain Bourse (BHB) received a group of the participants who attended the Investor Relations Course that was organized in June 2012 by Bahrain Bourse in cooperation with J.P. Morgan for the second consecutive year. Participants from listed companies on BHB and some of the GCC stock exchanges attended. During the meeting, Fouad Rashid, Director of the Bourse and Ali Moosa, Managing Director and Senior Country officer of J.P. Morgan Bahrain handed out the certificates to all the participants who successfully passed the course assessment.

Rashid emphasized the importance of Investor Relations for listed companies in particular and capital markets in general and praised the unique and joint efforts of those responsible for organizing this annual course from J.P. Morgan and Bahrain Bourse. “The course aims to spread awareness of the importance of the concept of IR and its role in listed companies in Bahrain and GCC countries,” Rashid said.
“We are very delighted to be associated with Bahrain Bourse’s initiative to promote investor relations best practises in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The investor relations profession is new in the Middle East and Bahrain took the lead in developing a professional development platform for practitioners in this field,” Ali Moosa said.
“We are delighted that the programme has been very successful and listed companies have benefited from participating in such an important event. We expect graduates to apply IR techniques and corporate governance principals in their day to day jobs, from disclosing corporate results to formulating a compelling equity story and communicating it to the market.”
Bahrain Bourse organized last year the same course signed with J.P. Morgan in May 2011. The MoU aims to promote investor relations expertise in the Kingdom of Bahrain through a certified training course that is conducted annually. The IR course, which was conducted by a group of specialists covered a multitude of topics including: IR principles and techniques, communication tools, valuation, corporate governance, financial statements.
