The Kingdom of Bahrain in co-operation with the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) has announced the launch of the subcontracting and partnership exchange centre (SPX) in Manama on at a ceremony held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre on Wednesday.
The launching ceremony was addressed by Dr. Hassan Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce and Abdulaziz Bin Hamad Al- Aqeel Secretary General GOIC and attended by BCCI Chairman Dr Esam Fakhro, businessmen and the officials.
“I am pleased to welcome you all to the inauguration of the Bahrain Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange Centre. The Bahrain Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange have been established in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in close cooperation with the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting to bring together and match enquiries and offers for subcontracting work and outsourcing. The Exchange will also provide technical information on the industrial specialities, skill sets and capacities of Bahraini enterprises and engage in matching these skill sets and capacities with the requirements of the buyers. The Exchange will be an important resource centre for industrial enterprises in the region to strengthen and enlarge their supply chains,” Dr Hassan Fakhro said.
“The launch of the Bahrain Subcontracting and Partnership Centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, represents undoubtedly a milestone in the government’s efforts esteemed and cooperation with stakeholders locally and regionally to promote and support industrial enterprises in the Kingdom which comes parallel with driving directions and government support these institutions and application handling and industrial partnership on small and medium-sized industries particularly in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” the Minister added.
“The Ministry of Industry and Commerce in cooperation with the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting “GOIC” to implement the programme handling and industrial partnership SPX where this programme works as a mechanism intermediate to find a consensus and bilateral partnerships between buyers and suppliers, and is usually Suppliers owners small and medium industries. The program works as a services hub of industrial technical information between the Gulf States, in order to create links between those requesting products or need to outsourcing for the implementation of some of the work and those who carry them out who have the quality and experience,” the Minister explained.
The web portal of the SPX is an easily accessible business portal that seeks to make available to stakeholders in the region a collection of accurate and updated data on industrial subcontracting and business tenders from specific industrial sectors. This will be an online, subscription-based information delivery tool providing access to the region’s most comprehensive industrial database collected and analysed by industrial experts. This database is a valuable source of information that will be indispensable to carry out buyer-seller matchmaking, participate in tenders and strengthen supply chain relationships.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce in collaboration with GOIC conduct a survey preliminary included in the first phase of more than 200 factory in Bahrain for data entry of these factories in the web portal of the Bahrain Centre for Subcontracting and Partnership, is in the process to continue this survey to include the rest of the factory, where the existence of such data is easier to obtain information related to business industrial, expanding base of investment and support to promote exports and to find alternatives to imports to a broader local market, in addition to the web portal of the Bahrain Center for Subcontracting and Partnership allows users the opportunity to access the database of industrial zones in Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council, as this database are a rich source of information, cannot be dispensed with in the implementation of equal connectivity, as well as assist in the decision-making for participation in tenders and improved handling relationships with high added value.
