Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to committee members and His Majesty’s concerns towards plans and programmes which the committee seeks to apply in order to improve performance of the Bahraini administrator.
This came during a speech at the start of the 15th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
Shaikh Nasser presented to His Majesty the King a summary of the development plan prepared by the Olympic Committee and push for implementation, as Shaikh Nasser stressed the importance of intensifying efforts in the next stage and stepping up the pace of such meetings to ensure instant follow-up and interest in Bahrain’s talents.
The Council also adopted the model bylaw for the main system of sports federations and have been submitted to the competent legal authorities to initiate issuance in accordance with legal procedures.
Dates of the upcoming elections were also approved after the Olympic Committee has completed its consultation with those federations.
On the other hand, the new logo of the committee has been finalised from a field of models presented earlier.
The committee discussed what came in the Royal directives conveyed by Shaikh Nasser to the Supreme Council on honoring sports achievers on an annual basis during a special ceremony in appreciation to their results.
The committee also reviewed a report by the general secretariat on Bahrain hosting the first sports and environment conference, to be held from October 20 to 22. Invitations will be sent out to several renowned officials to attend this event, aimed to spread awareness on the significant of conducting best practices in the field of sports and the environment.
They also highlighted the rule of the GCC women by discussing latest preparations to host the Third editi onfo the GCC Women’s Games in March next year.
In this regards, committee member Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa was appointed head of the executive committee, while her deputy is yet to be announced.
Dr. Maryam Mirza, Ms. Dalal Salama and Talal Malallah were named new members to the Women’s Sports Committee at the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
