His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, affirmed the Kingdom’s support for all economic empowerment initiatives benefiting all social sectors, noting that innovative and varied initiatives are the best way to create sustainable opportunities for youths to depend on themselves and join business entrepreneurship.
HRH Crown Prince was speaking as he received at Al Riffa Palace Nobel Laureate and Grameen Bank founder Professor Muhammad Yunus, currently on visit to the kingdom to take part in the Social Entrepreneurship Week 2012, opened on Sunday under the auspices of Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, and organised by the Family Bank in strategic partnership with the Economic Development Board (EDB), the Social Development Ministry, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), Bahrain Development Bank, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the University of Bahrain.
HRH Crown Prince praised all efforts aiming to motivate youths to create their own chances in the field of entrepreneurship in order to achieve the best results and contribute positively to the kingdom’s economic momentum.
Professor Muhammad Yunus hailed the kingdom’s constant keenness to back social entrepreneurship initiatives and provide funds for micro projects.
Social Development Minister Dr. Fatima bint Mohammed Al Blooshi, the Political and Economic Affairs Advisor at HRH Crown Prince’s Court Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa and Advisor to HRH Crown Prince Shaikh Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa attended.
