Over 40 Bahraini Business women will be showcasing their latest designs in abayas, kaftans and evening gowns during “Heya (She) Exhibition 2012” which opened on Sunday and ends on 29 September 2012 in Doha, Qatar, through Tamkeen’s Enterprise Development Support Programme.
The flagship Programme is part of Tamkeen’s drive to deliver accessible business support services to private sector enterprises in order to support their productivity and growth. The programme offers five schemes to provide high-level integrated solutions to the private sector in Bahrain in the areas of marketing, business development, and quality management, in addition to subsidizing purchase of machinery and equipment and enterprises participation in trade fairs and exhibitions.
“Tarweej” Programme is one of the five schemes offered by Tamkeen under the Enterprise Development Support Programme which avails Bahraini based enterprises the opportunity to grow their business, increase their visibility through participating in local and international trade fairs and exhibitions.
Heya expo is widely considered as one of the most attractive events of the year. The event will see more than 130 showcase the latest designs and trends for abayas, kaftans and evening gowns from Qatari and international designers as well as provide the opportunity for visitors to purchase garments and other accessories.
Tamkeen will support up to 80% of the cost of space rental, design and installation of stands, as well as covering the full cost of airline tickets, hotel accommodation and shipping cost in this expo. To date, Tarweej scheme has enabled around 1000 business owners to participate in various trade shows and events.
“Tamkeen recognises the importance of supporting the private sector and enabling it to flourish. Facilitating access to regional and international shows is one way to support this objective,” Tamkeen’s Private Sector Support Senior Manager, Mohammed Bucheery, said.

“ We are very pleased with our participation in Bahrain’s pavilion at the Heya Expo 2012 in Doha through Tamkeen’s support,” Sharifa Al Neaimi, owner of Ranis Fashion, that specialises in design and sale of traditional Bahraini hand-made Jalabyas and Abayas, said.
Al Neaimi is participating for the third consecutive time in this show and is looking forward to promoting and showcasing her unique designs to a wide range of audiences from around the region. Al Neaimi said she had attended various expos and shows in Bahrain and across the region with the support of Tamkeen’s Tarweej scheme such as: Autumn Fair, Heya 2011, and Loyalty Expo 2012.
Mariam Janahi, another participant and owner of Ranis Fashion for designing and manufacturing uniforms, clothes and Jalabyas, commented that she had benefited from Tarweej Programme in various occasions and trade shows such as: the Bridal Show in Abu Dhabi and Al Ein in the United Arab Emirates. Tamkeen’s support offered her great opportunity to not only showcase and promote her products and designs, but also to broaden her customer base and connect with other international exhibitors.
Tamkeen’s Enterprise Development Programme includes: the Business Development Scheme (Istishara) to assist in the strategic planning and determining vision and goals of the organisation, the Technical Assistance Scheme (Techania) to provide support for the purchase of latest enterprise-related tools and equipment, the Quality Management Systems Scheme (Jawda) to assist in the design and application of world-class quality standards, the Growth Assistance Scheme (Tarweej) to support enterprises’ participation in local and international events and exhibitions, and the Marketing Assistance Scheme (Tasweeq) to provide support in the design and implementation of effective marketing and communications strategies, the Large Enterprises support Scheme allows Large Enterprises to acquire industrial machinery and technology.
