As part of the National eGovernment Strategy 2016 objectives that aims at reinforcing the community participation and providing innovative and cutting-edge government e-services, eGovernment Authority (eGA) has organized a training course on developing and designing IOS and Android related platforms Smartphone application to government employees.,
“Qudurat training program is designed to qualify a sufficient base of trained individuals on ICT basics as well as provision of general understanding and usage methods of the government eServices. However, attempting to create competent and qualified personnel to effectively communicate with the general public, we strive to develop and expand the scope of trainings provided by organizing tailored-made programs for government employees. The design and development of Smartphone Apps training programme is mainly concerned with training the basics of Smart Phone Application designs and development, geared to enhance communication with the community through several channels,’’ eGovernment Authority Human Resources, Finance and Capacity Building Director Fahad Al-Qadhi, said.
Al-Qadhi stressed that the training course is aligned with the national eGovernment strategy 2016 and its KPI’s which has been launched and announced during the eGovernment Forum opening ceremony last May under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of Supreme Committee for ICT. The Strategy emphasizes on developing new and innovative eGovernment channels and services along with developing 10 Smart Phone applications on a yearly basis to be easily accessible through common mobile application markets.
He further said that while this training is being organized, a particular focus will be placed on understanding the various types of mobile technology; developing IOSand Android related platforms applications, plus combining an overview of security basics in applications. Such applications are related to a variety of systems with a beneficial effect of delivering services to the public and expanding the reach of eGovernment eServices to a broader community in a safe manner.
Al Qadhi mentioned that eGA has assigned the accredited UK training provider Learning Tree International (LTI) to execute the training program. The ten-day training program is broken down into three periods which are scheduled for September 8th to 19th, 2012. First batch graduates of the training program will enable the various ministries and governmental bodies to start developing and hence delivering their eServices on the Smart Phones which will create new channels for direct communication and interaction with the public.
