Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women stressed the need to use modern technology to overcome the challenge of water and land in Bahrain.
She underscored the crucial importance of finding an appropriate equation that strikes the balance between agricultural and urban land, stressing the need to turn houses into viable productive units
She urged all official and private parties to join hands and step up efforts for a Green Bahrain, stressing keenness on promoting green areas and protecting the environment as part of a long-term strategy in line with Bahrain 2030 Economic Vision.
HRH Princess Sabeeka was speaking as she visited Muharraq-based Diyar Al-Muharraq Project, in the company of the advisory council in charge of the National Agricultural Development Initiative.
She was welcomed on arrival by Kuwait Financing House (KFH) Bahrain Chairman Yacoub Majid, KFH-B Managing Director and Deyar Al-Muharraq chairman Abdulhakim Al-Khayyat other officials.
Al-Khayyat updated HRH Princess Sabeeka on all the aspects of Diyar Al-Muharraq project, stressing the drive to optimise the use of spaces at housing projects in agricultural projects.
Al-Khayyat also briefed HRH Princess Sabeeka on a model projects aimed at setting up rooftop gardens as an alternative to overcome the acute shortage of land.
