His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa visited the Royal Bahrain Naval Force (RBNF) where he was welcomed by State Minister for Defence Affairs Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, BDF Chief of Staff Major General Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, the RBNF Commander and senior officers.
After the national anthem, HM the King was briefed about RBNF duties and missions to maintain security and stability of the Arabian Gulf waters as well as protect navigation lines in cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries.
HM was also informed about continuous participation in the multi-national Combined Task Force 152 (CTF-152), which was previously led by BDF.
HM King Hamad also listened to an account about the Joint Maritime Coordination Centre for Maritime Security, as part of military cooperation with the GCC countries.
HM hailed the key role played by RBNF since its inception and its two time outstanding leadership of CTF152 stressing the importance of continuous joint training with brotherly and friendly forces and exchanging expertise.
HM the King paid tribute to RBNF staff for their efforts to protect Bahrain and its territorial waters and maintain the nation’s security, wishing continuous success for all BDF personnel.
HM King Hamad, the BDF Supreme Commander, visited the US Naval Support Activity (NSA) where he was welcomed by the US Ambassador to Bahrain Thomas Krajeski and US Naval Forces Central Command and 5th Fleet Commander Vice Admiral John Miller.
After being officially greeted with the military navy greeting, HM listened to an account about the duties of the US 5th Fleet in the region.
HM underscored ongoing cooperation and coordination with the US navy since 1949, describing that as an important part of the one-century historic relations between both countries to ensure security of the Gulf region and combat piracy.
HM the King took pride in strong historic ties binding the two friendly countries and mutual keenness to further bolster them, thanking the 5th Fleet Commander and personnel for their dedicated efforts and wishing them continuous success.
