His Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa called on the world’s community to exert more efforts to establish peace, foundations of collective security and welfare as a noble humanitarian goal, through adopting mechanisms and programmes to end the disputes and crisis. That approach would enable nations and peoples to precede in their sustainable development projects.
His Highness the Premier stressed in a message directed to the world marking World Day of Peace coinciding with tomorrow Friday, held this year under the title, “ Sustainable Peace for Sustainable Future,” that achieving peace was not an impossible action, if they had true intention to activate it, for the world embraced all to meet, coexist and exchange common interests.
His Highness Prince Khalifa also reinforced that if the world’s community succeeded in agreeing on unified strategies for development, that would let it contribute in establishing the basic foundations of peace, saying, “The collaboration of the international community is the road to the good all humanity seeks.”
His Highness Prince Khalifa said that humanity record was full of struggles and wars which had destructive impacts and led to the killing of millions, therefore there was a dire need to develop strategies and unconventional solutions that would help in promoting peace as a noble value advocated by all heavenly religions.
HH Prince Khalifa asserted that the world should benefit from the bitter experiences of the wars and conflicts, and their results of ruin and destruction in creating permanent development strategies that take into account the interests of the people, especially in developing countries, and meet the aspirations of the peoples for a more stable and a prosperous life.
HH also said, “Working for the sustainable development is the slogan the countries of the world should achieve, through directing the national potentialities to construction and prosperity, and reduce spending on military armament, especially the nuclear, since any slowdown will lead to more disasters that threaten the present and the future of humanity.
HH also expressed his wish that peace would prevail the whole world, and that the celebration of World’s Day of Peace would be an opportunity for the countries of the world to take courageous steps in confronting challenges that threatened security and stability, reinforcing that coexistence based on mutual benefits was the way to achieve peace and prosperity in the world.
HH pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa supported all the efforts and initiatives aiming at reinforcing world peace, and through its membership in all regional and international organizations, didn’t spare any effort to actively participate for prevailing stability in all parts of the world.
HH highlighted that the Kingdom of Bahrain worked through a balanced foreign policy based on mutual respect and understanding between nations, of which let it attain appreciation and respect on the international and regional levels.
HH asserted that one of Bahrain’s constants was based on Gulf, Arabic and Islamic presence, saying that achieving security and stability in the region would double the Gulf cooperation steps, in the midst of the rapid developments in the world on political, economic and security levels.
“The GCC countries are keen on participating in the world in establishing peace through their active membership in the regional and international organizations, and their numerous initiatives to provide reasons to ensure prevailing peace and stability particularly in the Middle East region that faces a number of challenges.”
HH also asserted that the vision of the GCC for the current developments emanating from objective and international reasons aimed at maintaining security, and promoting peace and stability in the region.
HH stressed that the will of nations aspired to live in peace and security under the rule of law, and looked forward to working and production to achieve development and prosperity, should be away from the political disputes and bloody conflicts driven by hands working to keep the flame wars raging to attain private interests. This was even if the price was sacrificing thousands of innocent lives.
HH warned that the cost of not reaching peaceful solutions for regions suffering from crises and conflicts would be more severe over time, if the language of reason and wisdom was not used, and the will of the international community didn’t interfere in accordance with the high principles of the United Nations to return security and stability.
“The Arab Region and what it forms of political and economic importance, faces a critical stage in its history, for its security and stability are at stake as a result of many political and security challenges associated with foreign agendas and plans aiming at repartitioning the borders on ethnic and sectarian basis. In this regard, HH pointed out the need to have vigilance and unity in facing those dangers and ambitions.”
HH added that to achieve security and stability in the region, they had first to accomplish justice and comprehensive peace, through resolving the Palestinian issue in accordance with the legitimate existence of the state and giving the Palestinian people their legitimate rights in the declaration of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
HH highlighted that the continued threat of terrorism and the diversity of its objectives and its scope, in addition to the continued attempts by some countries to possess weapons of mass destruction, and the international arms race are challenges that needed comprehensive and decisive solutions, and in a way to provide a suitable environment for construction and prosperity.
HH also warned of the attempts by some to abuse religions and sacred matters to sow seeds of discord among nations and peoples, stressing the importance to search for points of convergence between religions and proceed towards a more stable world.
HH praised the efforts done by United Nations and its specialized agencies for a more stable world, stressing the need for concerted efforts to establish an international community of human security that led to a better future.
HH the Prime Minister urged the world to reinforce peace and make it a goal to work for, and keep away issues which disrupt development plans, and realize that preserving humanity was a collective responsibility.
