Human Rights Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman extended thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for issuing royal decree 66 for 2012 organizing the Ministry of Human rights.
He paid tribute to HM the King for promulgating a royal order restructuring the National Human Rights Organization to consolidate its independence and bolster its crucial role.
Dr. Salah affirmed the commitment of National Human Rights Organisation to the Paris Principles relating to the status of national institutions, stressing its independence and the election of its president and his deputy from among the board members.
The minister hailed the restructuring of the human rights watchdog as a political and legal message to the international community affirmed the royal resolve to institutionalize human rights in conformity with international standards.
Dr. Salah also hailed the royal decree restructuring the Ministry of Human Rights, adding that the move would enable its directorates to assume its duties fully.
He reaffirmed royal keenness on protecting constitutional rights and promoting legal awareness, describing the key decree as another crucial cornerstone in the reform project led by HM the King.
