The Kingdom of Bahrain represented by the Ministry of Social Development took part in the fifth session of conference related to bodies involved in the agreement on those with special needs held at New York, USA.
At the outset of the first session in which assistant undersecretary for social care and rehabilitation Baderiya Al Jeeb and director of social rehabilitation Mona Al Qhatam the UN committee was nominated.
A total of 117 countries took part in this session which is the considered the largest of its kind related to people with special needs.
During the meeting work papers specialized in the field of people with special needs were presented and agreements were signed by 153 countries while 119 by countries including the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom of Bahrain delegation presented the leadership’s care for people with special needs in the country and keenness towards presenting the best possible facilities for them in various fields.
This the delegation highlighted included in legislation and the protection of people with special needs’ rights. The delegation also presented all the facilities and services that are provided in Bahrain for those with special needs.
