Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, was welcomed by Eissa Al-Shammari, Najaf International Airport Director and key officials in Najaf marking a successful re-launch of its operations into Iraq.
“There were a number of inaccurate reports citing the interruption of our flights to Najaf. I am pleased to say bookings are strong on our Iraq routes and passenger confidence is at a high with all flights operating as per schedule. We are witnessing fully-booked flights for the next month with travellers from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan all taking advantage of Gulf Air’s convenient schedule and special fare offers,” Gulf Air Chief Commercial Officer Karim Makhlouf said.
Flights to Al Najaf, Baghdad and Erbil in Iraq began progressively between 20th September and 23rd September 2012. Basra will launch on 29th October with 3 weekly flights increasing to 4 from 1st December.
