The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs called upon all religious scholars, clerics, preachers and orators to take part in the signing of a statement condemning violence and sabotage at the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs headquarters in Juffair, starting from September 11.
The council had approved a statement formula submitted by several religious scholars and preachers denouncing violence, sabotage, disruption of public interests by blocking roads, targeting public and private properties and committing all kinds of violations offending human dignity.
The religious scholars, clerics and preachers expressed regret over acts of violence, sabotage and terrorization of people, stressing that this tendency, which is forbidden by Islam, does not only harm the economy but also has a negative impact on the deep-rooted fraternal links binding all the Bahraini people.
They also underscored support to all dedicated efforts to mend rifts, rally ranks and ostracise division and differences.
